Cami with The Gentlemen of Jazz

Uva Trattoria, 1040 Clinton Street at Brown, Napa, California

As saxman Philip Smith retires from his California lifestyle and his 7-year gig at Uva in Napa to live peacefully on the island of Maui, the trio that has played with him all these years will continue gigging there with a variety of special guest artists - I get to be one of them on Friday Dec. 17. I join Ross Gualco on keys, Tom Shader on Bass, and drummer Kendrick Freeman. Not only are these guys excellent musicians, but they also sing wonderful harmonies with me - all arranged by Mr. Shader. We sing things like CHOO CHOO CHA BOOGIE, WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MADE, MOOD INDIGO, I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU, SEND FOR ME, DINDI, CENTERPIECE, etc. I brought these wonderful players with me to the Mammoth Lakes Jazz Jubilee last summer, and we had a ball!

So grab a friend or a dance partner and enjoy one of the best nights out in the wine country - excellent Italian food, an amazing wine list, terrific musicians, and your truly = ever-so-grateful to get to do what I love to do with people I love and admire!

Uva offers live music six nights a week at no cover charge, with standard performances Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Special guest performances are featured every Saturday night. See below for the current schedule. The Bar is open until Midnight with small plate offerings Friday and Saturday. Support local music!
