Broken Down Kitchen Blues
by Cami Thompson 1984

I need a kitchen mechanic to help me warm up my stove
I need a kitchen mechanic to help me warm up my stove
It's been cold down there so long I think my dough is froze.

I need a new man in my kitchen to get my bread to rise.
I need a new man in my kitchen to get my bread to rise.
If he can warm things up a bit I'll bake him up a tasty surprise.

My cookies ain't been cooking,
My muffins are miffed
My goodies ain't been baking' Cause my oven's been stiffed
My jelly rolls ain't jumpin'
My hot cross buns are cold
My pot holders are hungry
For something hot to hold
I need a fix-it man to fix it fast
Before my dough's too old.

solos

He'll have to check out all my fixtures
Find out what's amiss
Peek along my pipeline
Why won't my steamer hiss
He'd better look inside my oven
Tho' the shape it's in is fine
It might just need a good deep cleaning
A little scrape along the sides.
Oh, Mr. Handyman - help me - get my kitchen back in line.

I need a kitchen mechanic to replace my old worn out fuse
I need a kitchen mechanic who don't charge no union dues
I need a kitchen mechanic to fix my broken down kitchen blues
